Er stonden niet alleen trainingen en races gepland in Brno maar ook een bijeenkomst van de Grand Prix commissie waarin beslissingen genomen zouden worden over het 2012 reglement voor de MotoGP klasse en het vervangen van de 125cc klasse door de Moto3 klasse.
Vandaag kwam in Brno de Grand Prix Commissie – bestaande uit Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna), Claude Danis (FIM), Hervé Poncharal (IRTA) en Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA) bijeen in de aanwezigheid van Paul Butler, de secretaris van de bijeenkomst.<br />Tijdens de bijeenkomst werden beslissingen genomen over het huidige reglement, het reglement voor 2012 en de vervanging van de 125cc klasse door de Moto3 klasse.<br /><blockquote>ÒVandaag hadden we met de GP commissie veel dingen te bespreken, zaken die bij de vorige bijeenkomst werden voorgesteld en die vandaag goedgekeurd moesten worden,Ó vertelde Ezpeleta. ÒDe meest belangrijke hebben betrekking op de MotoGP klasse waarbij is verduidelijkt dat om een Claming Rule Team (CRT) te worden een team zich zal moeten aanmelden waarna het team unaniem goedgekeurd wordt door de Grand Prix commissie. Verder krijgen de CRTÕs 12 motoren tot hun beschikking in plaats van zes en mogen ze 24 liter tankinhoud hebben in plaats van de 21 liter die de andere teams mogen hebben. Deze technische uitzondering kan aangepast worden als een meerderheid van de Grand Prix commissie het eens is met deze wijziging. De rest van het reglement blijft hetzelfde.Ó<br /><br />ÒWe zijn ook overeengekomen dat vanaf 2012 de 125cc klasse vervangen zal worden door de Moto3 klasse, dit is in principe door alle leden goedgekeurd. De MSMA was met een meerderheid voor en de rest van de leden Ð FIM, IRTA en Dorna Ð zijn het er ook mee eens. Het basis concept is een 250cc viertakt eencilinder machine met een maximum boring van 81 mm. Het doel is om deze categorie competitiever en goedkoper te maken. Het idee is om meerdere motorfabrikanten toe te laten en niet slechts een fabrikant. Er moet nog veel gediscussieerd worden maar het zal in 2012 wel ingevoerd worden.Ó<br /></blockquote>Er zal ook een derde trainingssessie zijn voor de Grand Prix van Aragon welke van 17-19 september plaats zal vinden.<br /><blockquote>ÒDit schema is geaccepteerd voor Aragon en daarna zullen we kijken of het goed heeft gewerkt om het mogelijk ook in te voeren voor de race weekenden in Valencia en Estoril.Ó</blockquote>

-</strong></p><p><em>Technical Specifications (as already announced on 17/02/10)</em></p><p>Capacity: Up to 1000cc<br />Number of maximum cylinders: 4<br />Maximum bore: 81mm<br />Maximum weight: 150 kg (up to 800cc) and 153 kg (over 800cc)<br />Maximum number of engines available for use by each rider: 6<br />Fuel tank capacity: 21 litres</p><p><strong>Exceptions for Claiming Rule Teams (CRTÕs):</strong></p><p>Maximum number of engines available for use by each rider: 12<br />Fuel tank capacity: 24 litres</p><p>The selecion of the Claiming Rule Teams (CRTÕs) will be by unanimous decision of the Grand Prix Commission. Modification to this exception due to performance of the teams requires the simple majority of the Grand Prix Commission.</p><p><strong>- Immediate application -</strong></p><p><em>Official MotoGP post-race tests</em></p><p>For these tests of 1 day duration, each rider will be restricted in the quantity and specification of tyres that they may use at a single test event as follows:</p><p>For all practice sessions, a maximum of 8 slick tyres will be allocated, specifically:<br />Front slick tyres: 2 of Specification ÒAÓ + 2 of Specification ÒBÓ = 4 in total.<br />Rear slick tyres: 2 of Specification ÒAÓ + 2 of Specification ÒBÓ = 4 in total.<br />During all practice sessions, a maximum of 4 wet tyres, specifically:<br />Front wet tyres: 2 of the standard specification<br />Rear wet tyres: 2 of the standard specification</p><p>In addition each rider may use 1 set of tyres (1 front + 1 rear) retained from their allocation for the preceding event. The basic technical rules of this class are:</p><p>- Single cylinder 250cc 4-stroke engines with a maximum bore of 81 mm.<br />- Each engine should last for 3 races minimum and cost not more than 10,000 Û (final cost will be announced)<br />- Each manufacturer if required should be ready to supply a minimum of 15 riders.</p><p> </p>
